My Writing Mission
Is to make your customers feel that the copy they read on your flyer, brochure or website was written for them while using the appropriate ‘tone of voice’ for your business. To show your product or service in the best way possible and attract people who will go on to use your service or purchase your product. To make your blog the go-to place for the latest news or information in your industry.
Copywriting & Content Writing
What is copywriting? According to Google; ‘It’s the activity or occupation of writing the text of advertisements or publicity material’. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? But of course, there’s so much more to it than that.
It’s about engaging your customers, grabbing their attention with a strong headline and keeping them reading, with the ultimate goal of them buying your product or service.
Content writing is copywriting’s more subtle cousin, it’s perhaps less sales orientated, more information lead. It’s the art of telling people about your product or services while offering them valuable content. One of the most popular forms of content writing is blogging. All websites can benefit from a well written blog, and with the correct use of key words they can drive traffic to your site.
My Proofreading Mission
Is to ensure that your book, leaflet, flyer, website copy only see the light of day when everything is correct. That you never have the experience of someone pointing out mistakes in your book, or competitors laughing at errors on your website.
This doesn’t mean I’m going to cramp your style. You choose how you want your words to sound, your ‘tone of voice’ I just make sure those words and the attendant grammar and punctuation are correct.
If you think I can help you by writing for you or improving your own work, contact me and let’s have a chat about what you need.
Your novel is finished and you’re excited to see it in print, you’ve read it over and over and you’re pretty sure you’ve covered all bases. But, it’s a well-known fact that you should never proof your own work. You are much too close; you’ve read it so many times that in the end, you see what you expect to see and not what’s on the page.
And of course, proofreading isn’t just about spelling mistakes, it involves so much more;
You don’t want people to give up on your book because any of these things spoil the read for them.
Proofreading copy is no less important, in fact, you could argue it’s more important. Copy is written to advertise your company, to sell your goods, services and ultimately yourself.
Whether it’s a leaflet, a brochure or web copy it needs to be accurate. You will be judged on the quality of your copy.
Even if you have a good grasp of language and grammar, it’s always better to outsource to an expert. I can drive a car, but I ask a mechanic to service it for me because they are the experts.
